In Adele's cover Story for Rolling Stone magazine, she had this to say:
“My life is full of drama and I won’t have time to worry about something as petty as what I look like. I don’t like going to the gym. I like eating fine foods and drinking nice wine. Even if I had a really good figure, I don’t think I’d get my tits and ass out for no one . . . I love seeing Lady Gaga’s boobs and bum. I love seeing Katy Perry’s boobs and bum. Love it. But that’s not what my music is about. I don’t make music for eyes. I make music for ears.”
Ok Miss Chubs, ease up off the thin mints. Music is for the ears, but can also capture other senses such as the eyes. Her comment implies that Katy and Gaga's music is not for the ears, and is more about "boobs and bum". I find the comment a bit unnecessary. Katy and Gaga make great music for the ears, but unlike Adele, they have great bodies. Adele is enjoying great success right now, and currently has the #1 selling album of 2011. So, is her head following her waist line and getting big?
Her comment is in response to Gaga calling her fat and saying it won't get her far in the music industry. Seriously, if you like a musician only for their looks and not for talent, well then you don't really like the musician you are just shallow.
ReplyDeleteAmen to that. Last I heard, music is a treat for the EARS first. If you MUST have a visual accompaniment to music, then Gaga (and to a lesser extent Perry) is for you. Adele is coming from an "against-the-grain" place--being who she is, nothing more, nothing less. And blogger boy/girl/whatever, I wouldn't worry about a singer being "fat" if I were you. Just get your OWN ass to the gym and lay off the happy snacks. Dig?

Jesus thats harsh. You just can't compare Adele to 'musicians' like Gaga and the other one. Shes in a comlpetly different league to them, her music is about music. Katy Perry espiecally relies purley on her breasts, Calafornia girls video for example. I rest my case.
