On the third and final day of the 17th Annual ESSENCE Music Festival (July 3) R&B heavyweights came out to the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans to perform. Trey Songz, Jill Scott, MC Lyte, New Edition (reunited on stage for the first time since 1996), and old-schoolers George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic all took the stage.
Mary J. Blige was the headline act for day 3 (following headliners Usher on Day 1, and Kanye West on Day 2) and put on a soulful show performing a variety of her hits including 'Real Love' and 'The One'. LeToya Luckett and Usher's ex-wife Tameka Raymond (so she's really keeping his last name?) were on hand to take in the sights and sounds.
