The 17th Annual ESSENCE Music Festival kicked-off at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans on Friday (June 1). Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia, Tank, Miguel, Charlie Wilson, Boyz II Men and Sisqo all took the stage through out the day with Usher headlining Day 1 later that evening.
Usher twetted, “To everybody that came to the show tonight…much love! I had an
incredible time…as I told ya’ll last show this year on that level,” after his performance. Slim Thug, Letoya Luckett and Mary J. Blige all came out to take in and enjoy the sounds of the event. Kanye West will headline Day 2 later today with Mary J. Blige headlining on tomorrow.
