News Fix - Kanye West Leads The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards Nominations

The 2011 MTV Video Music Award Nominations are now in and Hip-Hop titan Kanye West leads the pack of nominees with 11 nominations. Katy Perry is the top female nominee and nabbed 9 nominations including Video of The Year and Best Female Video. British Pop phenom Adele scored 7 nominations including one for Video of the Year.

Beyonce, Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga all snagged 3 nods and will face-off against Adele and Katy Perry for Female Video of the Year. Britney Spears and Chris Brown picked up 2 nominations a piece. The big upset came courtosey of Rihanna who was only nominated for her collboration with Kanye West on 'All Of The Lights'.

Despite scoring #1 hits with 'Only Girl (In The World)', 'What's My Name' and 'S&M' the folks at MTV did not find the video's award worthy. This is the second year in a row Rihanna was snubbed. Does someone at MTV have a beef? The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards will air LIVE on August 28th. So far the only confirmed performer in Lil Wayne.
