News Fix - Rihanna Will Re-release Her Album 'LOUD' This Fall

Re-releases are becoming a big trend in the music industry now. Everyone from Usher and Lady Gaga to Ke$ha and Mariah Carey have done them in recent years. They usually occur for one of two reasons: 1) An album is hugely successful and the artists record label wants to capitalize on that success, or 2) An album is released and has only moderate success and is re-released in hopes of adding more success to the project. In Rihanna's case she doing it for reason #2. Of course, she's no stranger to this. Her Good Girl Gone Bad album was re-released in 2008 with new songs such as 'Disturbia' and 'Take A Bow'.

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest revealed on his radio show today (June 16) that Rihanna was recording material for a new album due out later this year. Rihanna clarified by posting this on her Twitter:  “The #LOUDera continues with more new music to add to ur collection!!!”

So get ready for more music from LOUD. Sales for the album have been surprisingly low considering she's had a string of #1 hits from the project ('Only Girl (In The World)', 'What's My Name', 'S&M'). The album has sold about 1.3 million copies in America, respectable but far from amazing.
