While promoting her first tour in Australia, singer Miley Cyrus dissed musical artists who gain fame through YouTube. When asked about Rebecca Black, Miley says "It should be harder to be an artist. You shouldn't just be able to put a song on YouTube and go out on tour."
I find Miley's comments unfounded. For starters, Rebecca has announced no tour. And secondly Miley's music, which is supposed to be taken seriously, is not any better than Rebecca's disposable song. Miley's last hit was when? Instead of dissing others, she should be focused on making her own good music, because at this point she is drifting more and more into irrelevancy.
Rebecca Black, the singer of the YouTube hit 'Friday' (If you have not seen/heard this, get from under your rock and YouTube/Google it) has garnered praise from American Idol creator Simon Cowell, Chris Brown, Lady Gaga and Perez Hilton among others.
