Word has come in that Dr. is putting the finishing touches on his upcoming Detox album and he has enlisted Jay-Z and Beyonce to do a track together with him. Sounds great to me, but it appears Dr. Dre is drifting into that Timbaland/Diddy phase where features dominate his album. Dr. Dre's current hit 'I Need A Doctor' featuring Eminem and newcomer Skylar Grey doesn't even sound like a Dre track. Dre pops up at the tail end of the song with a semi-weak verse.
But a Dr. Dre/Beyonce/Jay-Z song sounds epic so I am all for this. Bey & Jay on a track NEVER disappoints ('Crazy In Love', 'Upgrade U', '03 Bonnie & Clyde' anyone?). And who can forget when Jay and Dre linked up for 'The Watcher Part 2' on Jay's Blueprint 2 album? Dr. Dre's new album Detox hits stores in April.
